RADAR

Stands for Radio Detection and Ranging and is an active sending and receiving system in the microwave domain.

Stands for Radio Detection and Ranging and is an active sending and receiving system in the microwave domain. The system allows the contact-free detection, tracking and localisation of one or more objects using electromagnetic waves. The radar antenna transmits a signal in the form of radar waves, which travel at the speed of light and cannot be perceived by human beings. When these waves bounce off of objects, the outbound signal is changed and reflected back to the sensor – similarly to an echo. Read more about active microwave sensors (RADAR) here.
