Cloud feedback
A type of climate feedback in which the characteristics of clouds change in response to other atmospheric changes.
A type of climate feedback in which the characteristics of clouds change in response to other atmospheric changes. Understanding cloud feedbacks and determining their scale and indicators requires first understanding how changes in the climate could affect the spectrum of cloud types, cloud height, and amount of cloud cover. Further, it requires estimating how these changes would influence Earth’s radiation balance. Currently, cloud feedback remains the greatest source of uncertainty in estimates of climate sensitivity.
