Climate scenario
Climate scenarios are prepared with the aid of climate models and assumptions on future greenhouse-gas emissions.
A plausible and often simplified description of the future climate, based on a group of mutually consistent climatological relations and expressly created for use in assessing the potential impacts of anthropogenic climate change. Frequently used as input for impact models. Climate projections often serve as the raw material for creating climate scenarios, although these scenarios normally require additional information on e.g. the observed current climate. A climate change scenario shows the difference between a climate scenario and the current climate.
