Sulphur hexafluoride (SF6)
One of the six greenhouse gases that the Kyoto Protocol calls for combating.
Sulphur hexafluoride is predominantly used in heavy industry, to insulate high-voltage systems and in the manufacture of cable-cooling systems and semiconductors. Its global warming potential (GWP) is 23,900.
