Protists
Protists are eukaryotic organisms, chiefly single-celled but occasionally multicellular.
Protists are a highly heterogeneous group of organisms living in wet or aquatic settings and play an important part in various ecosystems. Some species can cause illness. Protists are also important model organisms for biological research. They include e.g. flagellates, ciliates, amoebas, dinoflagellates and diatoms.
