Opacity
The degree to which a given substance can be penetrated by light or electromagnetic waves.
The degree to which a given substance can be penetrated by light or electromagnetic waves. The mathematical opposite is referred to as translucency. High translucency means little absorption (opacity), i.e., high penetrability.
