Oceanography
The science of the ocean.
The science of the ocean, which is concerned with division of the seas; the chemical and physical properties of seawater; layering and circulation, waves, tides and ocean currents; and how the ocean influences climatic and meteorological processes. The term is frequently used in the broader sense to include all marine sciences.
