Biome
A biome is a large but discrete biogeographical unit, together with its characteristic flora and fauna.
An important and predominantly regional element of the biosphere, which normally consists of several ecosystems (e.g. forests, rivers, ponds and moors) and can be found in a region with a certain type of climate. Biomes are characterised by typical flora and fauna communities.
