Azimuth

Horizontal direction in a three-dimensional coordinate system

In astronomy, the azimuth refers to one of the two coordinates used to locate a point in the sky in a horizontal coordinate system. Together with the elevation, the azimuth describes the direction in which an observer at a given location on Earth’s surface can see this point.
