Acclimatisation
An organism’s short- or long-term adaptation to changing climatic conditions.
An organism’s short- or long-term adaptation to changing climatic conditions (a changing climate). Acclimatisation can take place in response to changed temperatures, less available oxygen, high atmospheric humidity, or shifts in rhythms (chronobiology). A given organism’s acclimatisation is only possible within the constraints of its genetically predetermined range of reactions.
